The reason why this lake is so special to me is because I get a chance to go fishing with my Dad. We cook the fish over a fire after we catch them. I have a special rock on the west shore that I like to fish from. It is a long hike up to the lake from Mission Dam. The trail up to the lake isn't cleared out very much. On the hike you pass Mission Falls and Elizabeth Falls. My favorite part of the hike is when you get to climb a rock wall. We always stop and get a drink at a certain spring. This year when we go we might stay over night. Lucifer lake is a natural freshwater lake in the Mission Mountain Range. The wildlife includes black bears, grizzly bears, mountain lions, cutthroat trout, small rodents, and all kinds of birds. The year before last we saw a grizzly bear with her cubs when we were about three fourths of the way up the trail. We usually conclude our day with a snack and a cold shower when we get home.
