A Narrative History of the Montana Heritage Project

A Study of the Crow People

Pat Stands

Plenty Coups High School

Students worked on several research projects that related to the Crow People and their history. Research was conducted with the assistance of community members and at libraries in Billings, Bozeman, Crow Agency and Hardin. Research papers included topics such as “Early Schooling on the Reservation,” “Crow Hunting,” and “Native Americans and Games,” among others. Students presented their papers at a community barbeque held at Plenty Coup State Park. More than one hundred and fifty people attended and a booklet of all the reports was distributed.
