Corvallis High School

1998-99

Students visited the original homestead of the Slack Family where they received information about Corvallis pioneers. These stories include the folklore that the Slack homestead is haunted by the benevolent ghost of Willie Slack. Students were then given the assignment to write their own ghost story about Willie, incorporating facts about the Slack family. Students completed simple illustrations of their stories, and the stories were then presented in a reading during the Halloween season at another pioneer homestead, the Quast Mansion.
