A Narrative History of the Montana Heritage Project
Exploring the History of a Local Tradition
Agnes KempLibby High School
A student was elected Logger Queen in 1995, prompting an investigation into the thirty-five year-old Libby tradition. This led to the first Logger Day Queen coming to class to discuss the changes that have occurred over the decades in this annual community celebration. Jessica Moe, Logger Queen for 1995, did research at the local paper and compiled a list of the former queens. To print a final report for the year-end binder, click here.
