A Narrative History of the Montana Heritage Project
Many Lives Make a Community

Using this as a guiding idea, students sought out elders to interview to learn about their community history. Teams of students researched appropriate elders, arranged and recorded a series of interviews. The information was used to create a five-page biography which was accompanied by a portrait of the subject. Later, students prepared first person summaries from these biographies. Students chose one prop that exemplified their subject and gave dramatic performances of their summaries at the annual Heritage Night. Over one hundred people attended the performance and all research subjects were thanked with Montana Heritage Project certificates of appreciation.To print a final report for the year-end binder, click here.
