A Narrative History of the Montana Heritage Project
Publishing “Essays of Place”
After spending a month learning about, researching and writing essays that explored the history and folklife of places around Libby, a book, Essays of Place, was published. Students also researched and wrote a cookbook, Cooking with Characters. Each recipe was accompanied by a family story, and in many cases a photograph, connected to that particular dish. The final publication arose out of an oral history project. Students interviewed several people that live in an apartment complex called Treasure Manor. They published the histories in a booklet called Treasured Tales. To print a final report for the year-end binder, click here.
