Students in Townsend researched places throughout Broadwater County. The examined primary sources (letters, transcriptions, pictures, and historical files) at the Broadwater County Museum, visited the Townsend Star newspaper office, and researched the county’s history, The Broadwater Bygones, in order to formulate questions. They also interviewed many local residents about Broadwater County in the earlier years, using video and audio tapes to record their interviews. Afterwards they photographed the citizens they worked with at a community photograph session at the Broadwater Community Library. The photographs were labeled and placed with accompanying quotes into a computer presentation. The students also compiled the pictures of community members into a book which they donated to the museum.
