A Narrative History of the Montana Heritage Project
Stories in Place
Students expanded upon an existing curriculum unit that dealt with the concept of myth. By exploring local stories that perhaps contained mythical elements, students strived to better understand truths in both past and present local history. Students worked with volunteer community mentors to explore their chosen topic. Each student produced an historical essay, a poem, and an essay of place. Collectively, an extensive video documentary and a professionally printed literary magazine of student work were produced.
