10:15-12:15 Eight-Minute Site Reports (14 sites, demonstration and affiliate)


Librarians - Collegial discussion over a catered sandwich lunch - Society third floor classroom

Teachers - Lunch on your own

Monday afternoon

1:30 - 2:30 “Writing for Story,” Michael Umphrey - Auditorium


3:00 - 3:15 Financing Education In Montana, Jack Copps

3:15 - 3:30 Learning How Project Materials have been Archived, Jodie Foley and Karen Bjork - Auditorium

Concurrent Sessions

3:30 - 5:00 Librarian Track: Basic Introduction to Good Archival Practices and the Society’s Research Resources, Molly Kruckenberg - MHS Library Technical Services room

3:15 - 5:00 Teacher Track: Research Time in the MHS Library-Archives - Reading Room

9:00-10:15 Introduction to Serious Magic: Renee, Jenny, Nancy H., and Phil - Auditorium


10:30-12:00 Final Session: Introduction to LCAOF representative, Jack Copps; updates, deadlines, and information on the Youth Heritage Festival, including DC selection protocols and rubrics;YHF Writers’ Breakfast; deadlines for student essays (March 17 demonstration sites and May 15 affiliates); summer conference and institute information including demonstration site teacher responsibilities; online and print magazine work; area legislator contacts; student permissions; work on expeditions. Time to distribute material for the Youth Heritage Festival - Auditorium

12:00 Time and designated computer stations to complete evaluations of the Winter Summit. Also catered buffet lunch, third floor classroom.

1:00 Adjournment

Coffee and tea and will be available throughout in the third-floor class. We’ll have water in the auditorium.

Please visit the classroom as you have time, also, to pick up your Youth Heritage Festival materials, books available for you to take, etc.
