Using a free html editor to compose posts without knowing html

Using a free html editor with Expression Engine

I used a free html editor to create this post. It’s called 1st Page and it it lets me insert tags such as bold or italic, without knowing any html.

It also let’s me change fonts or font colors by highlighting the font and using the “format” menu.

I can add blockquotes to indent text (the text below was pasted from WordPerfect):

At the press conference in his office in the Capitol where Governor Marc Racicot introduced the Montana Heritage Project to the public, he drew parallels between this new education initiative and the Montana Study, which had put Montana on the map, at least among those concerned with the theory and practice of community development in the 1940s.
This new project, like that previous one, would make Montana a leader, Racicot said. It would “allow our young people to seize control of their own futures by studying what has happened in the past,”

I can apply heading tags.

Using it is quite similar to using FrontPage. When finished, you can copy the text and paste it into the Expression Engine Publish form.
